Wow!! What a phenomenal VE Day concert we had yesterday . . . we were honoured to welcome WWII veteran Richard Styan, now aged almost 102, what a wonderful gentleman. Becky Whitlam, our guest solo singer, delivered a beautiful performance of some truly memorable wartime favourites. Our fantastic audience turned out to support us again and joined in with our ‘mini Proms’ section which brought the concert to a resounding and uplifting conclusion. From the bunting and flags, the 1940’s costumes, the lucky raffle prize winners, to the delicious homemade cakes and rousing music, this event was a lovely celebration of VE Day, 80 years ago.
